Notes:

Yankees' offense shined, as the Yanks collected 17 hits off of the Phillies pitching staff.

Eric Duncan smacked a grand slam in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

DeSalvo was brilliant through his 3 innings of work, giving up only one hit and one walk.

Notes:

Well, this was a tough game... The Yankee batters ( Matsui, Sheffield, Posada, Cano, Cairo, and Phillips) did absolutely nothing. The Yankees only had TWO hits during the game. They were totally outmatched by Kenny Rogers who went 3 scoreless innings.

Randy Johnson gave up 7 HITS and 5 RUNS in his 4 innings pitched...

This game was probably the most disappointing Spring Training game yet... The Yankees had most of their main batters playing, their ace ( Johnson) pitching, and the Farnsworth/Rivera combo relieving, but they still ended up losing.
