Notes:

Randy Johnson struggled through the first two innings giving up three runs, but settled down through the next four innings pitched. Johnson gave up two home runs ( Kotsay, Payton) and picked up his fourth loss of the season. Scott Erickson made his Yankee-debut today, pitching an inning and two thirds (giving up one run). Erickson was called up when Tanyon Sturtze went on the disabled list yesterday.

The only offense for the Yankees today was Jorge Posada's solo home run in the second inning.
