Notes:

Randy Johnson finally stepped up and pitched like a dominant ace. He gave up only two hits and 3 walks over six brilliant innings of work. The New York bullpen was just a dominant, shutting the Tigers down through the final three innings.

Jorge Posada was back in the lineup, after spending a few days recovering from a leg injury. He went 2 for 4, driving in a run. Robinson Cano had a season-high, three hits today, while Gary Sheffield made his first start in right field since the first week of May.
