Poor Pitching, Sloppy Defense, and Slumping Bats Seal Yankees Third Straight Loss

Mike Mussina picked up his first loss in almost two months. He pitched very well- 7 inning pitched, 7 strikeouts, and three earned runs. But the Yankee offense did not pick him up.

Jason Giambi hit his 18th home run in the fourth inning, and Kevin Thompson hit his first career home run in the fifth inning.
