Yankees Suffer First 3-Game Sweep of the Season

Catcher Jorge Posada tries to tag out Oakland's Nick Swisher at home plate in the third inning. Swisher was called safe, scoring on an inside-the-park home run.

Shawn Chacon returned from the disabled list today and pitched five shaky innings. He threw only 84 pitches but surrendered 5 runs on 6 hits and three walks. Kyle Farnsworth gave up the go-ahead home run in the top of the eighth, picking up his 4th loss of the season.

Jorge Posada and Robinson Cano were the offense for the Yankees- Cano had three hits and an RBI while Posada hit a two-run homer in the 5th inning. The Yankees have lost four games in a row, but will receive a much-needed off day tomorrow.
