Mike Mussina was brilliant through 7 innings of work, holding the Marlins to one earned run. Farnsworth and Rivera each pitched one shutout inning in relief.

Damon's sac fly and solo home run were all the runs the Yanks would need today. Bernie Williams singled twice to raise his season batting average to .290.
