Chien Ming Wang was excellent tonight, pitching into the ninth inning and surrendering only one run. His sinker was working wonderfully, as he recorded 14 groundball outs.

Melky Cabrera, Derek Jeter, and Jorge Posada each hit RBI singles, but Johnny Damon's two-run triple opened up the ballgame. Cabrera had three hits, and right-fielder, Kevin Thompson had two.
